Steven Seagal visits Caribbean Island

Over the past week, the presence of American actor and martial artist Steven Seagal on the Caribbean Island of Grenada had many locals wondering the reason for his visit.

The Ministry of Culture and Arts in a Facebook post published on August 20, had a photograph with Minister Yolande Bain-Horsford and Permanent Secretary Michael Stephen, in a photo op with the Hollywood actor.

Meanwhile, Grenadian politician with the New Democratic Congress Claudette Joseph posted to Facebook her encounter with the famous martial artist.

She said: “Because martial artists always find each other, yesterday some of my students and I had a very pleasant encounter with famed martial arts expert/instructor and actor, Steven Seagal, 7th dan - Aikido style.

He shared with us some of his experiences training in the martial arts including his many years training in Okinawa, Japan. Very humble and down to earth man.

We presented him and his entourage some Grenadian gifts compliments the Grenada Tourism Authority.”
