Nine-year-old Judah Panton’s ‘On The Beat’

Young musician Judah Panton is only nine years old, yet he’s made his official music debut with his single Judah On The Beat.

The single is a catchy take on the 2016 single JuJu On That Beat and was executive produced by 27 Corazones Beats and Judah’s father, the multi-talented Jason Panton.

Jason is most known for co-founding the popular Dubwise soirées held in Jamaica and Miami. In addition, Jason is a deejay, event producer and music industry exec working in A&R.

Judah’s new track is his next mission, however; it was engineered by Neil Dyer and is being released by Jason’s own Everything Nice label — earlier this year, Everything Nice released Heavyweight Rockaz (featuring Jesse Royal) Sweet Sensation.

'One day I found a beat, my dad said let’s make up lyrics. I had a little idea, and then we just started putting it together piece by piece’, Judah said.

‘We went to the store and bought a microphone so I could record it. The song is about wanting to play with friends, mixed with lyrics that are actually about how the song came about, my process and journey into music so far. I wanted to make a little reggae and a little hip hop.

Judah, like many young artists, got his start in music almost as soon as he could speak.

Officially though, he began learning the piano at age four and gradually went on to performing at recitals, moving on to learning the drums at age seven.

With his musical background, and music exec dad, Judah’s been exposed to Jamaican musical giants like Stephen Marley, Protoje, Jesse Royal, Chronixx, Koffee and more.

As his interest in music grew, so too did his playlist and he began listening to more American artists like Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Nas, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar, among others.

Judah has cited his desire to make reggae music with a blend of hip-hop and rap and his debut aptly captures this.

‘I think that Jamaicans will like it because of the 'weh u deh' part — and Americans will be able to relate to the other more American lyrics.’

He is currently working on more exciting releases but is taking it slow, instead of rushing to fully immerse himself into the world of music.

Judah On The Beat is available now across all DSPs with visuals to follow. It is being distributed via Everything Nice.
