BOJ offering limited banking services

The Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) is now offering limited teller services at its offices in downtown Kingston, following a temporary closure last month to manage risks associated with the COVID-19 virus.

Effective Wednesday, September 16, the bank will only offer the exchange of foreign currencies and exchange of mutilated and contaminated Jamaica dollar currency within stipulated guidelines.

These transactions can be conducted between 10 am and 1 pm daily until further advised, the bank said in a press release.

With respect to coin exchange services, the BOJ recommends that the public continues to utilise the services of Grace Kennedy Payment Services.

For other banking services, the public should rely on their commercial banks or other deposit-taking entities.

The central bank said it remains committed to serving the public and encourages all our customers and stakeholders to continue to take the necessary steps to remain safe.
